Copywriter & Social Media Manager

Equiton is a private equity firm that focuses on providing Canadian investors with private market real estate investment solutions. It is staffed by highly qualified people who are hard working, team-oriented, and focussed on getting the results necessary to make Equiton successful.

Candidates must be available to work from Equiton’s head office in Burlington, ON.

We are looking for an experienced Copywriter & Social Media Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s social media pages and creating content for a variety of audiences, such as the public, clients and financial advisors. Content will include social medial posts, blogs, informational and white papers, corporate publications, news releases, website content, marketing/advertising and published articles. Experience with writing in the field of Finance and/or real estate would be ideal. Ultimately the candidate will maintain a strong online voice and brand, consistent with our marketing goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and publish engaging posts for various social networks, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as, email and marketing campaigns. Work with the marketing department to create marketing campaigns and posts.
  • Optimize social media posts (language, tone, message) based on our target audience’s behaviors
  • Select appealing images and videos to complement postings and publications that meets the company’s branding guidelines
  • Track and report on social media insights (traffic, engagement, shares, conversion rates)
  • Write and assist in the creation of various content including: news/press releases, informational documents such as blogs, flyers, financial publications, informational and white papers, website text, corporate guides
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines
  • Have an understand advanced industry concepts and distill them in engaging and relatable content
  • Demonstrate creativity and solid understanding of marketing principles to create engaging copy that influences the audience
  • Produce error-free content that adheres to the company’s style guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position (especially in the financial or real estate field)
  • Degree in marketing, communications, journalism or relevant field
  • Proven work experience as a Social Media or Financial Copywriter or similar role
  • Solid understanding of online copywriting and how it impacts search engine optimization
  • Hands-on experience using various social media platforms to advertise
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Familiarity with online paid advertising
  • Ability to deliver creative web content (text, image and video)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Diligent, conscientious and detail-oriented marketing professional
  • Anticipatory, proactive and responsive – thinks ahead and plans accordingly with minimal guidance
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills – operates with tact, diplomacy and integrity always
  • Maintains a calm and confident demeanor under pressure
  • Strong work ethic and team player – trustworthy, capable and reliable
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-stress growth environment.
